
Along with The Defeating Epilepsy Scholarship, there are a number of scholarships for individuals with epilepsy. The Defeating Epilepsy Foundation is working to create a list of grants available for individuals, family members, and caregivers all battling epilepsy.

Requirements: have an identified disability, be a high school senior or graduate planning on enrolling, already enrolled. Full or half-time undergrad at accredited 2 or 4 year college in the United States, minimum of 3.0GPA.

UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship
Amount: $10,000
Deadline: February 15, 2021
Scholarship offers assistance for individuals with epilepsy, family members, and caregivers. Must be legal resident of the U.S., must be seeking an associate’s, undergraduate, graduate degree, or enrolled in a trade school.

2021 Living with Epilepsy Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Available to a student who has been diagnosed or whose family member, friend, or other individual they are close to has been diagnosed with epilepsy or another seizure disorder.

Lorna Myers PNES Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Lorna Myers who is donating the royalties of her book Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures: A Guide, the Epilepsy Alliance of America has established a scholarship program for students with a diagnosis of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES). Awards will be based on the quality of applications through a competitive scoring system that balances need with achievement. Epilepsy Alliance America reserves the right to determine the number of scholarships given each year. This is a one-time award.
Purpose: to assist an individuals with PNES with his or her academic and/or vocational training.
Qualifications: Applicants must (1) have a diagnosis of PNES confirmed by a statement from the applicant’s physician (2) have proof of acceptance as a full-time student to a post-secondary academic or vocational program (3) submit three letters of reference from people other than family members and a head shot photograph.
Application due: July 16, 2021 Awards Announcement: August 1, 2021
